What is Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression?

Non-surgical spinal decompression is a computer-controlled, gentle stretch of the spine. It is designed to take pressure off injured discs and the nerves they press on. There is no surgery, no injection, and no medication. At Trinity Integrated Medical we pair decompression with rehabilitation and manual therapy, so we treat the muscles and movement patterns around the disc and don’t rely on the table alone. That’s our whole-person approach.

Our Decompression Table: Triton DTS

We use the Triton DTS decompression table for both the low back (lumbar) and the neck (cervical). Its computer controls the pull and the hold-and-relax cycles, and the settings are tailored to your spine and your condition. A session takes about 20 minutes, including getting you set up on the table.

Conditions We Treat With Spinal Decompression

  • Lumbar (low back) and cervical (neck) disc problems
  • Herniated discs
  • Bulging discs
  • Degenerative discs
  • Compressed discs
  • Foraminal and canal stenosis
  • Facet syndromes
  • Sciatica (leg pain from a pinched nerve)

Who It’s For, and Who It’s Not For

Usually a good fit if you:

  • have back or neck pain from a disc problem confirmed by an exam or imaging
  • have sciatica or radiating arm or leg pain that hasn’t improved with rest, medication, or adjustments alone
  • want to explore non-surgical options before you consider surgery

Not a fit if you:

  • have surgical hardware installed in your spine
  • are pregnant

Decompression isn’t right for everyone. If it isn’t right for you, we’ll tell you at your evaluation, and if you need a different kind of care we’ll point you there. We have an M.D. on staff if necessary.

Get emergency care right away if you lose bladder or bowel control, have numbness in the groin or saddle area, or have leg weakness that keeps getting worse.

What Your First Visit Looks Like

  1. A free 15-minute candidacy call (optional). Tell us what’s going on, and we’ll tell you whether an evaluation makes sense.
  2. The in-office decompression evaluation ($97, a $249 value). It includes a consultation, an exam, X-rays, and a review of any reports you already have, such as an MRI.
  3. Try the table. At the first visit we often offer a demonstration session on the Triton DTS table, so you can feel it before committing to care.
  4. Your plan. If you’re a candidate, we explain your decompression plan, how rehab and manual therapy fit in, and the full cost before you commit. The package is a minimum of 24 sessions, 2–3 times per week.

Your care team: Dr. Tim Uselton, DC, runs the clinic and often performs decompression sessions himself. He no longer does chiropractic adjustments. Dr. David Liang, DC, is our treating chiropractor, and Shukura Leo, FNP-APRN, is our medical provider.
